Get your online course off to a great start with a welcoming “Welcome Letter”. A Welcome Letter creates instructor presence and lets students “hear” your voice. Email the Welcome Letter a week or so before the course start date and post in the course as well. Provide important and useful information like your contact information, the online synchronous Course Orientation date and time, the required textbooks and materials/supplies, Canvas login information, course availability date, and other pertinent information.
OCIP has a Welcome Letter template on it’s Resources page. Scroll down to access the Word file.
